Fan Edged Armwarmers ©

I made these to match the Fan Edged Hat. You may need to use a smaller hook to get a smaller armwarmer. These came out a bit larger than I expected (but they are not tight).

  2. I love this pattern and thanks for sharing. I have one question. To make the warmer for the second hand, is it the same pattern? I can't tell if the whip stitched seam is visible from the front of the warmer. Do I need to reverse the pattern somehow? Thanks

  3. Lindy, Thanks for checking it out! It is the same pattern made twice. Depending on how it looks to you, you could whipstitch it the opposite way and turn it inside right. Hope this helps!!

  4. I just finished it :) Thanks for the pattern!

  7. Hi, I am attempting to make the Fan Edged Armwarmers and I'm stuck between rows 10 and 11. I don't understand where to do the double crochet or what chain arches you speak of. Any help you can give me would be much appreciated.

  8. Jessica,
So sorry for taking so long to get back to you. I have started classes at the college and have had no time to crochet let alone check my site!
Let me know if you still need help

  9. Yes please, I do still need help.

  10. Jessica,
Ok, if you are between rows 10 and 11, you should have a 3 chs from row 10, in that space you will put 5 dcs there.
I'm not sure exactly where you are stuck. Maybe a little more detail and I could help more

  11. Thank you for this beautiful pattern. My daughter is a cancer survivor and I was looking for a light pattern for fingerless gloves. She had a condition that is caused by the chemo (side effect) called Raynaud's phenomenon. She has poor cirulation in her hands and feet due to capillary nerve damage. I will take pictures when I finish.

  15. This pattern is so pretty! I want to make them for my little girl; can I start with a smaller beginning chain, and what number should i try?

    ReplyDelete
  16. Betsy,
I know you can use a smaller size hook and thinner yarn, but I'm not sure how long your starting chain should be. Possibly, you could measure your daughter's wrist/arm and go from there? Hope this helps :)

  17. Thanks for this pattern! I'm a novice crocheter and am happy to find relatively simple patterns that still produce interesting results.

I've made my first one. It looks great, though it came out rather large for my hand. Would it be best to try it with a smaller hook? I like the yarn I used.

  18. Actually - I just tried doing it with a 28-stitch chain (instead of 33) and taking out one chain from each row, and with the slightly stretchy yarn I'm using, it fits just perfectly for what I wanted. Thanks for putting the pattern out there for us!

  19. Kath,

Yes you can use a smaller hook to make a tighter fit :) Let me know how they turn out!

  20. I made it with 28 and it was still too big!

I think I will make them again with 21. They ARE beautiful!

  21. Hi there,
I work for a charity and we are making things to sell as a fundraiser. I was wondering if we could use your pattern?
You could email me at melissa@contactsouthsimcoe.ca to let me know how you feel about that.
    Thanks Melissa

  22. These are so pretty and easy to make! I made a full set of the armwarmers and the hat as a gift for my sister, and she loves them!

I'm definitely saving the pattern for future use.

Please help!!! i really want to make these!

  33. Thank you for the free pattern. My mittens turned out very nice.

  34. so cute, but I've pulled it out twice. I have no clue how to do row 11 at the end. Is that a typo?

    ReplyDelete
  35. These are gorgeous. I found your pattern through Ravelry and tweaked it, just a little so that I could work in the round rather than sewing them up at the end. I've now got a gorgeous matching set of shawl and mits.

  36. I am at row 17 and it says to crochet 4 more times but I dont have four more arches, please help as I have pulled this out twice already to be sure I am following the pattern correctly.

  37. Lady Akane: Thank you for the wonderful comments. I hope everything came out okay! I love Ravelry! I will search for you there so I can see your finished work!

  38. Pam Owen: I apoligize for the lateness of my response. Did you finish the pattern? Or give up? I will have to make a pair to see where I made the error that you got stuck on. Please let me know where you are at with this.

  39. Is the dtr stitch at the end of rows 10 & 14 correct? It doesn’t seem correct? Feels like it should be just a dc.
